How To Deal With Jealousy

Monday, November 26th, 2007

By Oh Srichaphan Most of us have experienced a jealous partner and many of us have found ourselves being insecure or jealous in a relationship, no matters how enlightened we think we are. Jealousy is instinctive. Its a form of fear and insecurity. You suspect your partner of having an affair and youre afraid of losing him/her so you act out to try to protect yourself from losing the relationship. But what many dont realize (or temporary forgetting when they exhibit the jealousy rages) is that theyre more likely to destroy the relationship theyre trying to save. If you are the jealous type of person, the first step you have to take is start communicating more. Stop assuming and start asking questions. Talk about your feelings and try to work it out with your partner. If youre at the receiving end of the jealousy, you also need to communicate and leave all doors open, meaning you must not have keep anything hidden or locked away from your partner but instead have open lines of communication. Resolve the mysteries of the past, discuss your feelings in the present and plan the future by communication and your relationship will be a big success. Jealousy only brings you further apart. The King James Version, Inspired or Not

Saturday, November 24th, 2007

By Gary Kurz The controversy as to whether the King James Version of the Bible is the inspired Word of God or not has raged over many generations of Christians. Some believers unwaveringly claim it is the inspired word and others hold just as strongly that it is not. Occasionally, the opposing views can be so vehemently embraced that is causes schisms in the body and ministry suffers. That something like this could bring Christians to loggerhead in light of incontrovertible evidence is difficult to understand. We can understand when unbelievers stir up controversy about scripture, but not when it comes from those who have been enlightened by the Spirit of God. Regardless of one’s position, for a member of the body of Christ, charity and harmony should always prevail. Before charity and harmony are sought however, it is important that a Christian arrive at the right position on a matter. We are admonished in scripture to search out at thing to ensure that it is true. When we give due diligence to discover the truth, we leave no room for conflict in the body. In this matter of inspiration the search reveals that the King James Version simply is not and cannot be the inspired Word of God. No version or translation is. To arrive at an opposite conclusion than this is to not ignore the facts. I suspect that many use the word “inspired” when they actually mean to say “preserved.” Let’s briefly look at the difference and let’s keep it simple. Too often so-called Bible scholars get so deep that we common folk cannot understand what they are talking about. Consequently, not wishing to appear ignorant, we accept their teachings as fact, thereby perpetuating the error. Inspiration was a one time, never to be repeated act of God whereby he transferred his thoughts to paper by the hand of holy men that he selected. He searched their hearts and employed them to this holy task. These men were sometimes contemporaries, but often lived during different periods of history over many centuries of time. God revealed his thoughts according to his time table in the format and way he wanted. This is best evidenced in the continuity of thought and purpose of scripture. He used approximately forty men to deliver the complete canon of scripture over a period of some 1900 years, but clearly the Bible is the work of one author. We can allow some wiggle room for those who claim that these men wrote with their own flair, but even this concession borders on being dangerous. To infer that these men had any latitude to write what they wanted is simply preposterous. II Peter 1:21 tells us: “For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man; but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.” The statement could not be any clearer. The will of man was not involved in any way. The will of God was affected through men by the moving of the Holy Spirit. Picture a large sailing vessel becalmed in a bay, its sails hanging limp from the masts. Though they want to get underway, the men on the ship can do nothing to cause the ship to move. Suddenly a breeze is felt and the sails begin to rustle. The wind picks up to a steady pace and the sails fill. The ship begins to move. The men rush to their stations. The ship comes about and swiftly leaves the bay, rising and falling on the waves as it reaches open water. The men on the ship were not responsible for the ship’s movement. They did nothing but be where they were supposed to be. The vessel did nothing but move involuntarily to the will of the wind. So too the men God used to pen his word did nothing more than make themselves available to his will by being who and where they were supposed to be. Though they were willing vessels, they wrote involuntarily, and often ignorantly, as the Spirit of God moved them. Again, this was a one-time, never to be repeated act of God. God will never again transmit his thoughts to men until after he comes again to set up his theocratic kingdom on earth. Then he will commune with men in person and not through the written word. We no longer have the inspired word of God. Frequently you will hear someone try to qualify their ideas and conclusions about the meaning of a certain portion of scripture by saying “well, if you check the original…” That person is not well-versed on canonical history. The fact is that the original, known as the Autographa or Textus Receptus (Received Text) no longer exists. The original, or rather originals (as each book was given at different times in history) are no longer available. Of course we know that the Word of God is settled in the heavens, or, in other words, God holds it; but there is no collective work held in some secret vault somewhere on earth. It simply does not exist as some would suppose. Inadvertent and deliberate destruction, aging and other reasons have taken its toll. However, that is not problematic, because God tells us that he has preserved his word for all time so that all generations can know his truth. The word of God is preserved in a translation and those who hold to the King James Version being the Inspired Word will be happy to know that while that notion is not supportable by scripture and fact, it is indeed the Preserved Word. How can we be sure this is true? We know by simply by looking at the difference between the two concepts. The Inspired Word was perfect and flawless. The Preserved Word is not. In your service to the Lord you have heard people say “oh everyone knows that the Bible was written by men.” By this declaration, they mean that men had latitude in the development of the Bible. This was not true of the Inspired Word as we have already seen. However, there is a modicum of truth to this statement when it comes to the Preserved Word. Men did have some latitude. This is why there are so many inferior and unfaithful texts. The fact is that the King James Version of the Bible, or the Preserved Word, does have flaws. There are at least two miscues made by the translators that come to mind, and if I gave it more thought, I could come up with several more. For example, in II Thessalonians 2:2 the term “day of Christ” is used when it should read “day of the Lord.” It is an obvious error on the part of those who had the responsibility of translating and preserving the Inspired Word. Many might drop their lower jaw on this revelation and perhaps have their faith injured, but that should not be the case. There are no ramifications to major doctrinal issues or positions. They are benign and easily corrected by any Christian who is asked to explain the discrepancy. This underscores the importance of Christians being “instant in season.” We are the final link in the chain of preservation of the word. Inspiration brought us the perfect word of God. Translation began the preservation process. The King James Version continued the process by putting the preserved word into the hands of believers. The believer, in the role of priest, is to vigilantly protect the preserved word. The Story of Joshua and Caleb

Friday, November 23rd, 2007

By Mike Bradley The story of Joshua and Caleb is one of the most powerful and dramatic stories in the entire Bible. There are major lessons in this story for all Christians to grab hold of! Most Christians have heard of the story of Moses, but many Christians are not aware of the story involving these two. They are an extension off the story of Moses. They are the climax to the story of Moses, as I will show you below. Ill first give you a brief synopsis of their story and then give you what needs to be learned from their story and how it personally applies to the situation that you are now facing. Brief Synopsis Of Joshua and Caleb God sends Moses into the land of Egypt to rescue and pull His people out of slavery from the Egyptians. He parts the Red Sea so they have a way to escape from the Egyptians. He throws 10 whopper plaques at the Pharaoh in order to get him to release His people from their bondage. God the Father performs one of the most powerful supernatural displays of signs and wonders that the world has ever seen to get His people pulled out of Egypt. Moses tells Gods people that He will give them what He calls the “Promised Land.” It is a land flowing with milk and honey. He will settle His people down in this land and this is where He will break the Israelites off into 12 different tribes. However, there is one little catch to this story. Before they are allowed to enter into this Promised Land, they must first pass a test. God allows them to stay in the “wilderness” for 40 years. He gives them all the basics as far as food and water in order to survive in the wilderness for the 40 years. God purposely tested His people to see if they would “hold fast” to Him while in the wilderness for the 40 years. And time after time, they continued to screw up. At one time, God got so mad at their rebellious attitude, they He literally wanted to kill them. But Moses got into the gap for his people, pleaded his case to God as to why He should not kill His people, and the Bible said God relented and changed His mind - just because Moses stood in the gap and effectively pleaded his case before God. However, just after a little over 2 years into this 40 year journey is where they finally blew it big time for the last time with God the Father. The Israelites sent in some spies into the Promised Land to check out who the enemy was and to develop battle strategies to defeat the enemies. God was going to allow them to go into the Promised Land, but they first had to defeat and drive out the enemies in order to conquer and possess the land. When the spies came back, they came back with a “bad report.” They said the enemies were “giants” and their kingdoms were too well fortified and they wouldnt be able to defeat them. Now mind you, God had just got done pulling them out of Egypt with one of the greatest displays of His supernatural power the world has ever seen with Him throwing 10 whopper plaques against the Egyptians and then parting the Red Sea to give them safe passage into the wilderness. When God saw their negative attitudes and their lack of faith and belief in His power, He literally threw up His hands and basically said thats it, youre done. At that point, He told them that all the men 20 years and older would not enter into the Promised Land due to their lack of faith and belief in Him. He said that they would all wander in the desert for the next 40 years until they all literally died out in the desert. God says that their carcasses would fall in this wilderness and that their sons would be shepherds bearing the brunt of their infidelity towards God. The spies that went into to spy out the land did so for 40 days. As a result of this bad report - God pronounces judgment that they should wander in the wilderness for 40 years to match up with the 40 days that they had spied out the land for. Now this is where Joshua and Caleb come in. God then tells Joshua and Caleb that they and the younger generation under 20 years of age would be the ones to go into the Promised Land because they had “wholeheartedly followed God.” They had full faith and belief in God that He could defeat all their enemies once they went into the Promised Land to conquer and possess it. Joshua was the leader that led them in. Moses himself was not allowed to go in and he died and was buried out in the wilderness. Joshua then took Moses position as leader of the Israelites. He then goes into the Promised Land with his strong faith in God and then proceeds to literally wipe their enemies off the face of the earth and conquer and possess the land that God had promised their forefathers. Lessons To be Learned From Joshua and Caleb 1.  I believe the “Promised Land” for todays Christian refers to Gods call on that persons life. For the Christian that will fully surrender his entire life over to God the Father - I believe God will place a specific call or calls on that persons life. However, it may take many years before God releases that person into what his true calling is for God. Sometimes it takes years of preparation to get ready for that call. But once that call comes in and you are getting ready to cross over into your “Promised Land,” a lot of Christians get cold feet at the last minute and walk out of their call. They start to get too focused on all the negative possibilities that they will encounter if they take the call. Fear sets in and they “bail out of the boat.” This is why the above story is so powerful. The Israelites lost their one and only chance to go into this Promised Land due to one main reason - fear and a lack of true faith and belief in the power of God too see them through. They were too scared of the “giants” they saw in the land that they were supposed to possess and they did not have enough faith in God to conquer and defeat these giants. As a result, they lost out on the biggest blessing of their entire life. After Joshua fully succeeded in his mission, he makes the comment shortly before he dies, that God had not failed him in any of the promises that He made to him in that He would give him every ounce of land that he would step foot on. He told Joshua that his enemies would be taken out and that he would be given total victory as long as he stayed with Gods instructions. Joshua saw his call completely through and when he died, he died a man with his call and mission from God completely fulfilled. His story is how God wants all of His people to live!! The 2 keys to Joshuas success was his strong faith in God and the fact that he had always “wholeheartedly followed God.” I always tell everyone to stay with their leadings from the Holy Spirit. The Bible says that the Holy Spirit will “guide us into all truth and teach us all things.” He is our guide and our teacher. If God puts a call on your life, but you dont follow His specific instructions and leadings on how to get there, you will never succeed. Joshuas story is one of the most dramatic stories in the Bible about someone who “did it right in God.” His story is a perfect example for all Christians on how to properly follow God and the call that He can place on your life. 2.  Susie, this story really applies to where you are at right now with God. You may be getting ready to have your door opened up to enter into your Promised Land - into Gods true call on your life. However, you are well aware of the “giants” and “strongholds” you will be coming against if this door opens up for you. Susie, remember the above story on Joshua. He saw the same “giants” and “strongholds” you are seeing. He saw all this before going in. God allowed him to see exactly what he was going into before he actually went into it. And God is showing you the same thing. You have two choices. You can either let fear and panic set in just like the Israelites did and lose your chance to enter into your “Promised Land,” or you can have the same strong faith and belief in God that Joshua had - and go in their with a “kick butt attitude” that you will be victorious and that you will accomplish everything that God wants you to accomplish. Ill leave you with one last thought. Joshua took his strong faith and belief in God, entered the Promised Land and achieved total victory in God. The Bible says God is “no respecter of persons.” What He will do for one, He will do for another. If God is calling you to go through this door, rest assured that you will have the full power of God operating through you to achieve total victory just like Joshua did! As a final testament to the this mans story, God saw fit to name one of the books of the Bible after him - “The Book of Joshua.” I think that was a very fitting ending to what this man accomplished “in God” while down here on earth. The Bible said Joshua lived to be 110 years old. Article written by Michael Bradley of Bible Knowledge Ministries. Their website currently has over 100 Bible articles. What You Should Know About Depression Medications

Wednesday, November 21st, 2007

By Joe Stevens Are you depressed? If so, don’t feel alone. It happens to millions of Americans and others around the world. The thing that really stinks about depression is that, with all of our technology and medical “know how”, we still haven’t come up with a sure fire cure for depression. There’s a reason behind this too. Read on. The biggest issue that doctor’s are having with finding a cure are that there are several different types of depression to deal with and of these, some have their own unique symptoms that must be dealt with. This is why some doctor’s will give you more than one medication to try to help you. You could be suffering from a few different symptoms and they would have to give you a different medicine for each individual symptom. Example, you could be suffering from depression, anxiety and insomnia (loss of sleep). In this case, the doctor might give you an antidepressant drug like Zoloft, something to help your anxiety symptoms like Busbar and possibly Trazadone in order to help you sleep. This is all hypothetical, but comes from personal experience. The only problem with antidepressant medications is that, in many instances, they only relieve the symptoms of depression about 70% of the time and of that, only partially. There are some people that must “try” several different medicines before they either find something that helps or choose to try something completely different, such as professional therapy. The problem with these medicines is that it takes three to four weeks for them to get fully integrated into your system. Only after this time has passed will you know if they are helping you, not helping you or making things worse. After this time frame has passed you may choose to try another medication and the process begins all over again. Whatever you do, never stop taking your medications without consulting your doctor first. This can be extremely dangerous in some cases. Another issue with antidepressants are the side effects. These are always such a joy to deal with. Nervousness, diarrhea, constipation, insomnia, fatigue and more. Isn’t it ironic that some of the side effects are things that you may have gone to the doctor to get help for in the first place? There are other types of depression that are very serious such as Clinical depression or Manic (Bipolar) depression. People that suffer from these forms of depression suffer from an entire array of symptoms such as mood swings, sometimes violent, inability to have or maintain healthy relationships with friends or family, suicidal thoughts and more. Manic depressives have also been known to perform self mutilation, cutting themselves all over their arms and legs. Not deep enough to be life threatening normally, but enough to leave terrible scarring and cause themselves awful pain. Depression is a terrible disorder that has become more and more common in this day and age. If you or some one you know suffer from symptoms of depression for more than two weeks, you need to seek medical help and find out what your options are. Good luck. Fruits and Juices Important for Relieving Hemorrhoids Part I

Tuesday, November 20th, 2007

By Rudy Silva Foods to Avoid Chili Peppers It has been found that when you eat a lot of chili peppersthat you can get a burning sensation in the rectum or anus.It is best to avoid eating too many peppers, especially if youhave an advance case of hemorrhoids. Peppers are actuallygood for blood circulation and for healing ulcers. It is alwaysthe excess that creates problems in your body. Here are some additional foods to avoid, which cause constipation. Coffee Alcohol Bad Fats Animal products Red meat Foods you should be eating to help relieve hemorrhoids A high fiber diet obtained from raw fruits and vegetables is what you need to eat for eliminating and for preventing constipation. When you dont have constipation, you wont have hemorrhoids. The amount of fiber you should be eating is 25 35 grams per day. Most people only eat about 8 12 grams per day. If you have not been eating a lot of fiber, you need to addfiber slowly to your diet, especially if you add it by usingbran. Increase your use of bran or other bran cereals overa couple of weeks. If you add fiber to your diet with fruits and vegetables, you can add them freely without much problem. However, since your stomach will not be use to it, you may experience more gas for a week or two. You can compensate for this by taking digestive enzymes to help you digest the extra produce. The following list of juices and fruits are good for helping cure or relieveHemorrhoids. Juices Juices are good for hemorrhoids but especially dark berryjuices mixed with equal parts of apple juice. The dark berryjuices to use are, Cherries, blackberries, blueberries These berries contain anthocyanins andproanthocyanidins which reduce hemorrhoidal pain andSwelling by toning and strengthening the hemorrhoidveins. Drink at least one glass of this juice mixture each day. Cantaloupe Cantaloupes are one of the best foods you can eat. It has agood source of vitamins and minerals. It has a high beta-carotenelevel and has anti-clogging properties. Red and Black Currant Berries Currants are high in Vitamin C, rutin, and minerals. Thismakes their juice valuable in clearing hemorrhoids. The alsohave a small amount of the fatty acid GLA, which produceprostaglandin that control body pain. This juice is also good for cleansing the liver and blood.Good liver function is necessary for maintaining a healthycolon, rectum and anus. Drink 1 2 glasses a day of red or black currant berries. Pomegranate Juice Although pomegranate juice may be hard to find, it is quiteuseful in reducing hemorrhoids, because of its strongastringency. Saturate a cotton ball with pomegranate juiceand push it slightly into your rectum. If you have pinworms, the tannins in pomegranate juice willhelp you get rid of them. You can also drink the juice.During the summer I have on occasion found pomegranatejuice at a farmers market. It is slightly tart but it is easy todrink. However, its hard to drink more than a glass full withoutgetting a stomach upset. Oranges and bananas Eat 2-3 oranges and 2 bananas a day. Oranges providevitamin C, bioflavonoids, and fiber. Bananas provideminerals that help to strengthen tissue and have plenty offiber. Bananas can also be steamed to give more relief and eveneliminate hemorrhoids. Steam two not quite ripe bananas with their peel until they are soft. Eat two in the morning and two in the evening. Papaya Papaya is an excellent fruit to eat. It has good mineralcontent, fiber, and has enzymes to digest protein. These are the fruits and juices to use to for relieving hemorrhoids. Adding more vegetables to your eating habits is also important to get more fiber. These fruits, juices, and vegetables will help you keep regular and provide pain and inflammation relief for your hemorrhoid symptoms. Does God Want What You Want?

Sunday, November 18th, 2007

By Nevada York Remember asking your parents for something that you really wanted but for whatever reason they told you to wait? No doubt you wanted the object of your desire right then and there. Waiting seemed like such a difficult task, but you did it and for your patience your parents gave you what you requested. At this moment, what is it that you currently desire? Im not talking about material things, Im talking about non-tangible things such as a obtaining a marriage partner, wanting someone to change, someone to stop a nasty habit, or wanting someone to receive salvation, etc. The attitude one has can certainly affect the outcome of the petitioned of prayer. In maintaining patience and a spirit of expectation the Lord rewards His children. However, if during the waiting period, one becomes impatient and exasperated, starts to complain - it may force one to take foolish action rather than waiting on God. As adults we have been conditioned to work step-by-step earnestly towards our goals in order to achieve them. People are use to working hard for something on their own, then seeing the end results of their sweat and hard labor, yet that same formula doesnt apply in ones walk with the Lord. Proverbs 3:5-6 (AMP) reads, Lean on, trust in and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know, recognize, acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths. By not relying on your own insight or understanding, you put a stop to the hasty, random impulses to take action yourself verses waiting on the Lord to work. Many exhaust themselves by allowing their flesh to get in the way, by trying to make it happen instead of trusting in the Lord, thus getting frustrated and impatient when they dont get the results they want. Some may even start to doubt or lose faith in the Lord. The definition of the word Wait means: To remain or rest in expectation. Learn to rest in expectation of the Lord to answer your deepest prayers. Admittedly, it can be a bit maddening to say the least, especially when wanting something so bad then suppressing the urge to make it happen by any means necessary. Most of the time we allow the works of the flesh to control our actions, which leads us down the path of empty frustration when we dont receive the solution we want. We constantly focus all of our energy on a particular desire we wish to manifest and have no idea that we are going about it the wrong way. Are you at the end of your rope? Have you done all that could do trying to attain your desire? If you answer yes, then Great! You are that much closer to stopping your actions (works of the flesh) thus allowing God to take over completely, which is what you should have been doing all along. Psalm 37:4 (AMP) reads, Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He will grant you the desires and secret petitions of your heart. In delighting ourselves in the Lord, we allow ourselves to be content/satisfied in whatever state we are with God, not worrying about anything else because we are content to know that we are in Gods Hand. Gods ways are perfect. When you find yourself thinking of something that you want or have desired for a long time - Challenge yourself, say aloud: God is in control and wait patiently in expectation. According to televangelist, Joyce Meyer, one must understand several steps when waiting on God to move in your life: 1) Live Trusting God. Period. Do not try to make things happen by yourself on “your own time” have faith and believe in God to make things happen in His own time. 2) Adopt a “hands off policy.” Don’t do anything until God shows you what to do. 3) When praying for what you desire, you need to understand that if God wants you to have it. He will give it to you in His own time in His own way. 4) Tell God, “If you don’t want me to have it, then I don’t want it.” Ask Him to keep you in His will. Remember to keep your eyes always on God, not on the object of your desire. In following these steps, you shall see marvelous things begin to happen in your life when waiting on the Lord. How to Vanquish Pain

Thursday, November 15th, 2007

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Charles_Sabillon] Charles Sabillon Buddha, the founder of Buddhism, once affirmed that life was suffering. Although today, living conditions are much better than in the times of Buddha, the many kinds of pain that people still endure are almost infinite. However, the main categories are physical and mental. At first glance, the physical type seems like the most problematic, but the fact is that psychological traumas can at times be so overwhelming, that people will go as far as to commit suicide. Pain is hard to measure, in particular when it is of a mental kind. Nevertheless, there are physical aches that are well measured and even though classified as minor pains they can significantly decrease a persons quality of life. When they persist for long periods of time, they can become very stressing and will usually drive people to desperation. Whichever type, it is clear that nobody wants to endure any of the two. People want to be free of physical and mental pain at all moments in their life. They want to be exempt from it during childhood, during adolescence, during adulthood, and even during the later years. Pain is always unwelcome and science is the only one that has reduced the sorrow it causes. Over the past two centuries, science and technology have achieved impressive feats on this matter and the evidence shows that they are the only ones that could one day banish it completely from our lives. Science is steadily making progress in the fight against physical and mental anguish, with new and potent pharmaceuticals, with genetically configured drugs, and with many other treatments. However, the time it will take to reach that painless world that is so hungered by everybody, is unknown. What is known is that the speed by which technology advances depends exclusively on the speed by which money flows into laboratories. People tend to get impressed with nominal figures that make reference to the billions that yearly go into research and development. However, the only thing that matters is the share of the total economy that gets allocated to that area. At present, about 3% of the U.S. economy gets allocated to research and development (R&D). Three percent is a puny amount, but the worst part is that a very large share of it goes into defense and defense related fields. History shows that money spent on R&D, even if it is to make weapons, is better than when it gets used for civilian activities that are not of a scientific nature. Over the centuries, countless weapon technologies were adapted to many civilian activities and they delivered large benefits to society. However, history also shows that the benefits to society are much larger when the money is directly used for scientific civilian purposes. What needs to be done is to significantly raise the share from 3% to at least 10%. There is also a need to transfer much of the military resources into civilian fields and more particularly into the medical field. Many of the defense funds must remain in that area because the country needs to be well prepared against its enemies. However, the biggest enemy is malady. Heart disease and cancer alone kill more Americans every year than all the wars the U.S. has participated in the last century. Those two diseases also cause an inordinate amount of physical and psychological pain on their victims before terminating their lives. In the European Union, the situation is very similar. R&D expenditures during the last decades have been at 2% of the total economy and a large share, although smaller than in the U.S., goes into defense. Since the West needs to be well prepared against its many enemies, it is not rational to make large cuts in defense. However, there is a need to make large increases in civilian R&D and more particularly in medical R&D. The countries of the East like Japan, South Korea, and China are not either behaving rationally. Only like 2% of their economies get used for R&D. The people of developed countries must redefine their priorities. The priority is staying alive, being free of disease, and being free of pain. At present, those countries are very far from reaching that goal and they are not taking measures to directly address that matter. People must take things into their own hands and endorse a systemic lobbying effort so that their governments change policies and allocate more funds to scientific research. If they leave the matter to their incompetent and opportunistic politicians, it will never happen. As a result, the population will continue to suffer from an untold amount of diseases. Pain could be soon abolished and it basically lies within our possibilities to make it happen. Charles Sabillon did High School in Texas and has undergraduate degrees in Philosophy, Economics and Law as well as a masters and a doctorate in International Relations. After the PhD, he undertook post-doctoral research in the fields of History, Economics, and Ecology. He has taught Economic History at a university in Switzerland and speaks fluently English, Spanish, French and German.
